Two people. One job at a time. Careful preparation, clean lines, and the kind of finish that holds up to close inspection.
Stripping decades of dark gloss, full prep on cornicing, F&B Strong White on the walls with All White on the cornicing. Three coats.
Full strip of woodchip wallpaper, replastering of two walls, F&B Setting Plaster throughout. Original cornicing carefully picked out.
Render previously painted black, customer wanted a lighter look. Power wash, bio wash, two coats Bedec masonry paint. Fifteen-year guarantee.
Two-person team, twelve years of decorating between us. We take on one job at a time, so the focus is on yours from start to finish.
Living rooms, hallways, stairwells, bedrooms, kitchens. Preparation done properly — fill, sand, prime, then paint. Most rooms three coats, never two.
Render, masonry, timber soffit and fascia, sash and case windows. Weather-window aware — we won't push a job through if the forecast won't allow proper drying.
Lining paper, traditional, vinyl, hand-printed. Pattern-matched properly, joints invisible. Including specialist work like Cole & Son or Designers Guild.
Suede, metallic, lime wash, panelled walls. The bits that lift a room from "decorated" to "thought about". We build samples before committing.
Decorating is judged on what's underneath. Most of our time on any room goes into the bit you'll never see directly — the preparation that lets the finish coat sit perfectly.
Sugar soap, degrease, dust-extract. Removing what's there before adding what's new.
Two-pass fill, hand-sanded between. Joints feathered to disappear under paint.
Right primer for the substrate — bare plaster, MDF, gloss, metal, render. Skipping this is why paint fails.
Three coats. Cut-in by hand, rolled and laid off properly. Final inspection in daylight.
Full house redecoration. Six weeks of careful work. Three years on, not a single mark or flake. Best decorating we've ever had.
Hallway and stairwell. Anna stripped fifty years of paint off the cornicing — by hand. The detail came back to life. Honestly mesmerising.
Two days. Two coats of paint. One bedroom. I thought they'd be quick and rough — instead they were quick and immaculate. Tidy van, tidy people.

Two people. One job at a time. Twelve years on the brush between us.
Anna trained on the Scottish Decorators Federation apprenticeship in Edinburgh before specialising in heritage decorating. F&B Specialist certified. Eight years in business, second-generation decorator — her father ran a firm in Leith until 2018.
"You can't fake a good edge. Either the line's straight or it's not. There's no clever trick — just preparation, patience, and a brush that's right for the job."
Specialty — Period property interiors. Cornicing pickwork. F&B colour matching.
Marco came from a Polish-trained school of finish painting and has been decorating in Edinburgh since 2014. Joined Brushwork in 2018. Specialist sprayer with separate workshop kit. Known for vanishing-joint wallpaper work.
"The good work is in what you don't see. The corners that have been cut in with a brush by hand. The wallpaper joint that disappears into the pattern. The undercoat nobody asks about."
Specialty — Cabinetry repaints. Spray finishing. Hand-printed wallpaper.
We take one job at a time so the focus stays on yours from start to finish. Most jobs run two to five days. We won't take on a third concurrent job, ever, even if the calendar's empty next week.
Most projects start with a quick site visit. Free, no commitment — about an hour for most rooms. We'll talk colours, finishes and timeline before any quote.
